Adam S.
Berger, MD was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York
and joined the Center for Retina and Macular Disease
in October of 1998.
Dr. Berger received his Bachelor of Science degree
from Brooklyn College in 1984. He received his Doctorate
from the State University of New York Medical School
in 1988 and graduated Summa Cum Laude at the top of
his class. He was President of the Alpha-Omega-Alpha
Medical Honor Society.
Dr. Berger completed his Residency at Washington
University in St. Louis, Missouri in 1992 and acted
as Chief Resident, Instructor from 1992 - 1993. He
was granted a Retina/Vitreous Research Fellowship
and Retina/Vitreous Surgical Fellowship at Duke University
from 1993 -1995.
Dr. Berger went on to teach at Washington University
from 1995 - 1998 and his research interests included
surgical treatment of Macular Degeneration specifically
RPE cell Transplantation and Retina Transplantation.
Dr. Berger is recognized as a leader in his field and
has been a Board Certified Ophthalmologist since 1994.
He is an accomplished lecturer and
has spoken at the Midwest Ocular Angiography Conference,
the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American
Society of Retina Specialists, Club Vit, and the University
of South Florida.
Dr. Berger is an active Member of the American Academy
of Ophthalmology, the Florida Society of Ophthalmology,
and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
Dr. Berger is happily married with three daughters.
