Dr. Brandon La, OD

Before optometry school, Dr. Brandon La pursued a biology major with a minor in bioethics at Loyola University Chicago. After completing his undergraduate studies, Dr. La earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Midwestern University, Chicago College of Optometry. As a graduate student, his primary focus was working with underserved populations and educating them on preventative eye care to improve their overall health. Dr. La also worked as a teaching assistant aiding students in learning and understanding clinical optometry skills.

Throughout optometry school, Dr. La recognized the vulnerable low vision population and the need for increased availability and treatment options for these patients’ visual impairments. Dr. La hopes to provide rehabilitative care throughout the community, educate on the available resources for low vision, and ultimately enhance his patients’ independence.

Dr. La chose to further his education by doing a residency in low vision rehabilitation and ocular disease at the University of the Incarnate Word, Rosenberg School of Optometry. He is excited for this new opportunity in Florida, escaping the cold winters of Chicago, and being outdoors more year-round. Outside of optometry, Dr. La enjoys trying new restaurants, playing basketball and tennis, and spending time with friends and family. He recently got married and is looking forward to starting this new chapter with his wife!
